The SeaDog is a general purpose 0.8ci; 13cc; 4 cycle engine utilizing overhead valves, air or water cooling, in-block gear-driven camshaft, wet sump with splash lubrication, made from castings available from the author.
Comprised of 9 castings and designed with a 1"; bore and 1"; stroke, the dimensions of the SeaDog were kept to a scale which can be produced within the boundaries of most home shop equipment.
Some tools such as a lathe and drill press are required, and many steps may be simplified by use of a milling machine. Additional bar-stock and other easily obtainable materials are required to complete. The styling of the SeaDog follows that of model engines designed in the 1930's to 1950's, and is meant to serve as a tribute to one of the most prolific model engineering engine designers, Edgar Thomas Westbury.
It can be imagined that there is no ME alive that hasn't heard or read of his teachings.
